1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Bookbeek ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of the terms, you may not access the Service.

2. Description of Service

Bookbeek is a book discovery platform that enables users to:

  • Search millions of books via the Google Books API
  • Save favorite books to a personal collection
  • Track search history
  • Access book information and previews
  • Use ChatGPT integration through our MCP (Model Context Protocol) server

3. User Accounts

When you create an account with us, you must provide accurate, complete, and current information. You are responsible for safeguarding your account and for all activities that occur under your account.

We use Google OAuth for authentication. By signing up, you agree to Google's terms of service and privacy policy.

4. Subscription Plans

Bookbeek offers both free and paid subscription plans:

  • Free Plan: Limited to 30 searches per day with up to 10 favorites
  • Paid Plans: Unlimited searches and favorites, with billing handled through Stripe

Paid subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled. You may cancel your subscription at any time through the billing portal.

5. Usage Limits and Quotas

Free tier users are subject to daily search quotas. Exceeding these limits will require upgrading to a paid plan. We reserve the right to modify quota limits with reasonable notice.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
  • Attempt to circumvent usage limits or access controls
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
  • Use automated tools to scrape or extract data
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations

7. Third-Party Services

Our Service integrates with third-party services including:

  • Google Books API for book data
  • Google OAuth for authentication
  • Stripe for payment processing
  • Cloudflare for hosting and infrastructure

Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.

8. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Bookbeek and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

Book data, covers, and metadata are provided by Google Books and remain the property of their respective copyright holders.

9. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including breach of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.

10. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall Bookbeek, nor its directors, employees, partners, agents, suppliers, or affiliates, be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or other intangible losses, resulting from your use of the Service.

11. Disclaimer

The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. The Service is provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of any material changes by posting the new Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
